PILO

Sound savant, underground ambassador, and techno wunderkind are three ways to describe DJ + producer PILO. Since the birth of his musical project, the Los Angeles native has been intent on bringing techno to the masses as an advocate of the genre in the USA and beyond. With past releases on Turbo Recordings, collaborations with Sinden, Justin Jay, Harvard Bass, and most recently Boys Noize, PILO has since become an integral member of the BNR family. After embarking on a world tour in celebration of Boysnoize Records' 10th anniversary, 2015 proved to be both a busy and successful year for the producer. "Cerebral" was PILO's collaborative contribution to Boys Noize's album Strictly Raw, a track also used as the title theme for HARD Summer Music Festival the same year. Since November 2015 in collaboration with The Well L.A., PILO's curious brand of techno anarchy has been pulsating through the city at his monthly SUBSTANCE party, boasting impressive lineups with the likes of Boys Noize, Salva, ADEN, Escor Krist, Deapmash, and L-Vis 1990 in addition to residents Dean Grenier & Hej Fund of Sister City. These, among many of his latest techno endeavors have thus proved his affinity to multi-faceted, no-holds-barred, and unforgiving sounds. PILO's ever-evolving approach to techno has never ceased to provide us with some conversant insight into the darker sides of the dancefloor, leaving his listeners excited for what's more to come.

ALISON SWING

Alison Swing is an LA-based DJ, promoter, and self-described vinyl junkie whose love of records is outweighed only by the thrill of playing them to sweaty crowds. Growing up, she was raised on all styles of music (including a glorious stint in her school band), but it was on dancefloors and in clubs that she found her calling. Her first DJ gig was opening for Detroit Swindle in 2014, and she never looked back.   A student of rhythm, Swing has dedicated herself to exploring sounds that can make a body move, a skill she’s put to use spinning alongside supreme selectors such as Axel Boman, The Black Madonna, Solar, and DJ Sprinkles. With her curator-in-crime, Masha, she is also a co-founder and resident DJ of Dig Deeper, the party series in-the-know locals flock to for un-Shazamable cuts spanning warm house, euphoric disco, Scandinavian beats, romantic techno, and everything in between—the weirder and funkier, the better.   Once one of the city’s best-kept secrets, Swing is slowly but surely filling up her passport with international gigs in Germany, Mexico, and inevitably, a city near you.

CLOUDEST SPEAKER

Cloudest Speaker is an Electronic Music project started by Jens Peterson in 2010 showcasing his production work using Ableton Live as a means to express his musical taste in the wide realm of varying genres that exist among electronic music. The intentions of these original compositions are to curate an emotional sound-scape of sorts. With mellow chill-wave sounds and hip-hop based beats, the combined feeling of the music is great for nodding your head and getting lost in your own thoughts. The dreamy downtempo tracks have an ambient feel at times, but can quickly change pace to keep the listeners on their toes.   On a similar but different level, Jens also DJ’s using Serato.  DJing allows him to express to the audience where he has drawn inspiration from for his original music.  His sets are typically free-styled, loose in form, and jump back and forth between many genres (electronic, hip-hop, trap, future, bass, footwork) in a cohesive manner. Listen, feel, and let the music move you.

EIGHTS EVERYWHERE

Perceiving within a limited range of vibration, we observe the world around us. Our minds create patterns that construct our reality. Within our sensory range we have so much to focus on. Eights Everywhere is one of many reference points in this vast awareness of experience.
